From fishing nets to fabric
Every piece we make starts with a choice. We could have used conventional nylon. Instead, we use Carvico Vita, an Italian fabric made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon, produced from salvaged fishing nets, plastic bottles, and post-consumer waste recovered from the ocean.
Abandoned fishing nets, often called ghost nets, are one of the most destructive forms of ocean waste. Left in the water, they continue to entangle and kill marine life indefinitely, and can persist in the ocean for up to 5,000 years. Fishing nets alone account for around 10% of all ocean plastic. Each year, approximately 640,000 tonnes of them enter the ocean, part of a total 8 million tonnes of waste.
ECONYL® recovers this material and regenerates it into high-grade nylon yarn. Carvico then weaves that yarn into the fabric our pieces are made from.

It also performs: UV 50+ protection, full resistance to saltwater and chlorine, and long-term stretch recovery so your pieces hold their shape over time.
Every order arrives in packaging made from cornstarch, a plant-based material that breaks down completely in landfill conditions within 24 hours.
